About

L.A.O.S. is an acronym for Lao Association of Students.  This site is specifically geared toward the Lao student, young and old who believes in using education as a stepping stone to a better future. Since I am a teacher, I have seen the benefit of post secondary education.  Sadly, among the Laotian Americans, we have the highest high school drop out rate  among all the Asian population. Unfortunately, our numbers of college attendees and graduates are dismal compared to other Asians such as Southasians. As a group we can do something about it.  We need to change the way we view education. Instead of teaching our kids that getting a job after high school is the “right thing” to do, we need to show them other options such as college, technical schools or even military.

Even though this site is specifically for Lao students, everybody is welcomed to post their experience about school (high school, college, and graduate) and work.  If you want to share your frustration or experience just do it in the comment box and I will approve it.

Do they privide the scholarship for the person who live in side USA or not? Do they provide the scholarship for people who live out side for example the person who live in Laos as me.
